OzPoliCon 2008: Australia's first online activists and politico bloggers online conference
OzPoliCon 2008 represented Australia's first ever conference for online activists and political bloggers. After some initial technology glitches, the conference proved to be quite an excellent experience with some different ideas and perspectives about online activism being explored.
Australian Politics TV and Alex Schlotzer want to thank Colin Jacobs from Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) for being a guest speaker for Session 3. His discussion surrounding censorship and arbitrary filtering in Australia and overseas is well worth watching. And it also highlighted some of the major issues facing online activists and political bloggers in other countries, with threats of violence, having blogs stopped and arbitrarily arresting online activists and bloggers.
And a big thanks to the participants who made the conference worthwhile.
